In a small, sleepy Wild West town, the women drift through each day aimlessly. Their husbands have been missing for almost a year after being swept up in the gold rush, and the only movement on the horizon is the tumbleweed. It’s a small, cut-off town with just one drunken sheriff holding down the fort.Things are about to change though, as handsome bandit Jack Cannon swaggers into the saloon! They’re on the run from bounty hunters and this looks like the perfect place to lie low. Armed with a gun and a devastatingly attractive wink, Jack’s arrival marks the explosive onset of a gender revolution that might just light a fire under every woman’s skirts…

Cowbois is playwright Charlie Josephine’s latest work, following their acclaimed production I, Joan at Shakespeare’s Globe in 2022.
